Rebel 4x4 - New S/S exhaust and Maxxis Bighorn's

Post by Rebel 4x4 »

Hy het agter diff lock, smash and grab window tinting, Old man Emu suspension en 32" Good Year Wrangler MT/R tyres op 15" pro white rims.

My Oom was so gaaf om sy 15duim Allooi wiele vir my 15duim pro-whites te ruil.....

Jy gaan jou broek natmaak..... R5300

Hy is heeltemaal oorgedoen en lyk soos 'n nuwe ding.... Maar vir 'n 21jarige voertuig.......10% van sy waarde...... :aggresive:

Couple of weeks ago my exhaust was purring like a V6...... small Ø4mm hole in exhaust (the face where tail pipe is) was the culprit.... Thought of welding it closed, but as you know Murphy Law, another hole apear somewhere else....

So I maid the decision of putting a full S/S system to accomodate my Viper branch......

Wednesday I had chance to fit new "tekkies" on Rebel.... the 32" Wranglers had 6 years of good life, but with 6mm tread left.... they were now acting as an all terrain tyre......
IMG-20111109-00114.jpg
The choice I made was this:
IMG-20111109-00111.jpg
Tread starting of at 16.5mm.....
IMG-20111109-00112.jpg
Fitting the rubber:
IMG-20111109-00118.jpg
IMG-20111109-00119.jpg
Only concern was going down on tyre size....Before picture...
IMG-20111109-00113.jpg
After.... there is actually a huge difference.... Bit dissapointed in the wheel arches being now too open.... Looks like a dinky toy.
IMG-20111109-00125.jpg
On the up side, drivability is much better.... probably of the narrower track on the road and the 1" smaller in Ø. Also difference in pull away and accelerating.

Just curious what the km's will be on these rubber? Can I expect 45 000km? I'm only doing 3000km per year max.....

Beautiful lux, love the "4y INSIDE" sticker...Tell me something I wanna do a complete exhaust on my bakkie but not sure what diameter to put. I love to have a nice tone but dont wanna lose power at the same time.

How does yours sound? If you dont mind ,what diameter you did.
Thanks

I went with the standard, 50mm I think. It's very quite. Don't dig the noisy k-zos.
