My Vigo
Hi All,
New to this forum. Currently living in the UK and looking to come back to SA in the near future
Here's my ride ...
Here she is in Morocco last year
And she got a new set of tyres a couple of weeks back
Look forward to chatting to all of you and hopefully meeting a few when I'm back in SA
Cheers

Nice ride Nick
Are you driving here or flying?
Is that canopy steel or fibre-glass? Looks interesting....what's inside?

Re: My Vigo
As far as fly or drive, I am trying very very hard to convince my wife that we should take 3 - 4 months off and drive back but she's not too keen as she won't leave the pets for so long. I'll keep working on it.
The currently car has the following:

The currently car has the following:
- • TJM bumper
• TJM shocks & springs (new OME replacements have been ordered and should get them in April)
• OME Leafs (I broke the TJM's in Morocco)
• 2 x 120L long range fuel tanks (The second feeds the main tank via filtered pump controlled in cab)
• Air cushions on the back springs but after I fitted the OME leafs they are hardly needed
• 40L watertank with water filtration system and shower (albeit cold)
• Rear lockable drawer system
• Fridge/freezer in the back
• Dual battery system with 90W solar panel
• Asfir transfer & front skid plates
• Fiberglass canopy by pickup tops in the UK
• BF Goodrich Mud Terrains MK2's

I'm hoping for September but we are on year 12 of our 2 year plan so we'll have to see
There are some things we need to get cleared up first and we're working on them

Re: My Vigo
Here you can see the rear drawer system, water tap & shower head and fridge. Behind the fridge is the second battery and electrics. Oh - I forgot, there's a 2000W inverter and I have a run into the main cab so I have 220v there.pietpetoors wrote:Nice bakkie, I like that canopy, very neat

Fridge slides out for easy access
The electrics and you can see the black 40L water tank at the back
I'm getting some proper roll bars fitted to the inside to support the canopy as I want to fit a proper roof rack for the rooftent. At the moment I prop the roof with some custom aluminium square tube that is not sustainable

Great Nick
Welcome to the forum, once you convinced the lady (and pets ) to drive down to SA, please remember to do a details trip report, it is what keeps us in the office from going totally out of our minds some days.

Re: My Vigo
Spent some time this afternoon and fitted the roof console. Once fitted it is very unobtrusive and seems like it was always there. It's made to fit using the existing holes except in the front where you need to drill 2 small holes using a supplied drilling plate template. Overall a very easy fit with good instructions. I also ran the CB aerial and power cables whilst everything was undone and will get a proper CB to fit sometime in the future (I have an Intek H-520 handheld at present)
