It is a slight shade lighter than that - the camera has not done it too great a justice. Its a galvanised chassis.... As for the 2y motor - I wouldnt mind something bigger, but it runs strong (just need to get the carb tuned properly - any suggestions on where to take it in Cape Town??)

As for the body work - its full glass fiber, from the hood right through to the tail - doors and all.... Yes, it does leak a bit around the door sills, but thats the next big job!!!

I am interested to find out a bit more regarding the Fibreglass body. Why did you do that? do you have the molds? Can you make some more of these bodies?

Your nose and neck are sun-nurnt, and your Hilux is British racing Green. :D

Hmmmm... on second thoughts, the sun never shines in Slaapstad anyway, and that colour is not really BRG...

Lime green? Avocado green? Green with envy!

Nice job, by the way! :P

Hi Limey

Nice ride.
Did they flatten the big sand heap to the right of where the photo was taken? (Behind the engin garage at the landfil site).

I dont have the moulds, it was done by a company in Upington (will try find their details) It makes the perfect vehicle to go angling - no rust to worry about!!

As for the big pile of sand, its still there - at least half of it, anyway... one side is a nice slope up, the other is a drop, but you can still go over it....

Hi Limey!

I'm sure I saw you on the road today! :D Travelling north along the N1 just before Canal Walk, about 10am??

Not many other Hilux's like yours around! It looked great - sits high and seemed to be sailing along at about 100kph.

The other thought that crossed my mind is that the 'bont' colour of your Toy must deter the car thieves from having a go. They'd be visible from outer space if the cops ever had to give chase!

Cheers
