Tell us a bit more about your Hilux (or other 4x4) and show off with some pictures.

Hi Guys. I am new to the forum and to Hilux family. I'm in the process of getting a new van soon, but am unsure of which to get. Can you guys give me some assistance?

Welcome :wave:
Guess it all depends on what you want to spend:
Classic = SFA
Bit of luxury = IFS
Then there's the latest which is the Vigo.

Thank you. I actually own a RunX RSi, what a fun car lol. I work for Toyota so I get crazy discounts on the Hilux and Fortuners. Which Hilux has a better resale value? Which variant is the most popular?

Welcom aboard, Keshen! :thumbup:

I guess a lot depends on what your plans are with the van .... is it going to be a daily runner as well as fun outings .... are you more interested in overland travelling or do you want to do some rougher 4x4 stuff? If you want a tough ride for the rough stuff, get an old SFA ('89 to '98) and modify it according to your needs - benefit is that you can pick one up fairly cheaply and maintenance costs are very low - tend to be a bit thirsty though. Also, that might leave your budget capable of waiting for and gting t new model when it comes out.

The IFS models (like the KZTE) make pretty good all-rounders, as do the Vigo's - you'll be paying a bit more though.

Let us know what your off-road interests are and we can help you a further to decide. ;-)
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

D4D D/cab 4x4 will always be popular - Tough, reliable, capable, comfortable and economical.

Think it should read - "But is an auto better thank a manual?" Auto is easier for a newbie. :thumbup: Both have advantages and disadvantages off-road. :thumbup:

Seeing that you work for Toyota I am guessing you aren't looking at the SFA nor IFS Unless your discount stretches to all dealers with older models. I ould imagine it would bie esier for you to get a 2009+ model lux at a dealer. I would go for the 4L V6 just because I can if I was in your shoes. If your choice is between Fortuner or Lux then the question would be what you going to be doing with it? For loading and so on the Lux but for family and fun I would go Fortuner. :thumbup:
