Thanks ToyX4, just fitted some spots and gabriel safari shocks recently - want to put in a dual battery, later a winch - also want to buy a jet ski soon so will have to wait on the mods.

KODA,
Nice looking Hilux, but that's definitely not what is showing in your Avatar! Seems to be a Pajero, or am I just in need of cleaning my specs...

Hi Koda
That Lux of your looks sooo unhappy being out of its natural habitat and forced into an urban jungle. It begs to be rather photographed in the bush where it feels more at home

Never judge a book by it's cover.
Get some mud on it, enjoy it and the new toy.

Re: Koda's Ride
I was not judging the vehicle, rather the driver for posing his of road vehicle in an urban setting
Re: Koda's Ride
Thanks guys,
FD, it is a Hilux Double Cab - thought the pic was brilliant and could only get small pic- searched the net quite a few times for a larger one but couldn't - was an overseas ad I think -
ToyX4, will get an auto electrician to do it - scared I may cause some serious damage.
Benhur, you right - doesn't seem natural - but she's also an urban warrior - need to get her legs dirty though
I've been driving fast cars all my life and never thought of myself as a bakkie person - but needed one for my Boerboels, house, when I get my jet ski, etc - as it didnt make sense to have 2 cars - so we sold one car and bought the Hilux - best decision I ever made - I'm definately a ou what drive a bakkie now. (I still drive fast with my wife's car when I get a chance - golf5 gti - but I'd rather be in the lux)

Re: Koda's Ride
Yeah you say you drive fast with your wife's car, how fast are we talking here?
Yesterday morning I also drove fast in my wife's car, in fact it would not go faster then 165, could even have been faster, but the speedo ended at 160, was on my way down to East London to fetch her.
Guess what............
It was a little Nissan 1400 bakkie

Re: Koda's Ride
Hi KODA,
I'm heading off to Durban tomorrow (Saturday) for a week's leave. From all reports, it seems I should leave my bucket & spade at home and just bring warm clothing & a raincoat

Re: Koda's Ride
Simon, those 1400 can move driven one myself. They are that fast because they weigh next to nothing. Load 3 big chaps in the back and the nose wants to lift.
FD, enjoy your trip

Re: Koda's Ride
Thanks guys, it was an exciting trip!
Four accidents, one involving a new Hilux s/c delivey truck that rolled and was parked up a steep embankment just after Harrismith , no idea how he managed that. Another truck rolled earlier on but the bad one involved two large horse & trailers which caused a serious problem on the freeway, both trucks very badly damaged. Fourth incident was a horse & trailer that jack-knifed, and the fifth near accident involved the MB behind me who did not notice us all slowing down. Instead of rear-ending me, he swung over onto the verge between the lanes on the freeway, skidded all over as he slid past me, throwing mud all over me before he somehow jumped right over the stormwater drain separating the return freeway back to the toll gate.
I stopped to see if they were OK, an old Oom & Tannie, who were badly shaken but unhurt. Surprisingly, their car suffered no damage at all hopping over the storm drain, but he had to now return to the toll gate or find a safe place to do an about turn to head back to 'Maritzburg.
My car is absolutely filthy, more mud than any of my 4x4s have ever had on them, and draws stares from people.
Eish... these people be mad, as my Garage Attendant said on seeing the car when I filled up with petrol at the Ultra City.

Sjoe I am glad to hear you are OK. Hows the weather down there? Also a lot of rain?
Enjoy the brake, you deserve it my friend. I hope you will be well rested on your return.
