I found a small crack in my chassis :( not big but it is there :!: :!: It is just above the right front wheel as the chassis arches over the axel towards the front it looks like on closer inspection that the chassis got a knock the from a previous bull bar but I know the crack was not there before :!: So I dont know how long she has been cracked because I cant remember wen last I looked there and I have not done any crazy stunts for a while so who knows :!: :!: I had one of the exhaust places just weld it for now but thinking about it I could have welded it better with a arch welder looks like bird s@#t it should hold for a week or to till I box it any sugestions :?: I will try to take a photo tonight

Well the crack is all fixed up thanks to my boss and whole roll of wire for the mig welder was used :!: On closer inspection the repair done by power flow with ther mig welder was not to bad it had very good penatration, even though it did not look very good. So all we had to do was grind it down and then we welded a 5 mm plate along the side of the chassis for extra strength 8) So the van is back in the game :!:

It was I removed the cylinderhead to replace number 4 piston which was causing piston slap which has all now been sorted. I plan to replace the motor early next year so I just did a patch job for now. She sounds 100 times better

Hi Rich

Your best bet will be to find a local Stapol and take them a sample as the colour changes as the seats get older so first clean the seats with a nail brush and sunlight soap and water scrub lightly do not press to hard! then dry. That way you will be sure of the colour. Remeber to treat the leather afterwards. Or if you want to you could change the colour to match your hilux interior.

Trevor, those are plastic covers/strips that you can try find at scrapyards, or buy from Toyota... I went the route of spraying mine matt black... still need to do the rain water channels above the doors some time...

Hi Eric

I fitted the ching chong one took a hard look at the quality and it all looks good. I will post a few pics after the weekend. Only thing is I think the new engines temp sensor is not very good quality as it responds to much to very small changes in the engine temp.

You know how things are there is still som much i want to do to the van. Recover rear seat with leather do the carpet and a new roof linning but in need to do the bodywork first. Just a report the chin motor is going great but I need to change the base plate for the carb the breather pipe has come loose and was sucking false air!

:laugh2: :laugh2: I love it! ... Know what you mean (sucking air freely), but that sounds really 'funny'. :D: ;-)

Justin

Hows that bumper coming on? Have you fitted it already? Im still waiting for mine. Have finished the rear now, here are my mods:

Repaired and resprayed whole rear end after fitting new tale-gate.
New Rhino Lining on the back
Powder coated home made rooftop tent bracket and refitted
New stickers made for rear and sticked
Modified my home built rear bumper I built 4 years ago, added some flare to it and refitted! :yahoo:
Fitted used frontrunner roof rack with lights (still need to do the wiring)
Completed my home built dual battery system

Now just waiting for front bumper. Doing the radio, new aerial, wiring for lights and planning on fitting the snorkel.

here are some pics - Sorry, didn't want to take over the post
