Barto's HiLEX
Here's the first few official pics of my Hilux.
Took the first 5 pics at the camp site at Vleesbaai this weekend. The pics were taken with my Sony cheapie camera, but my friend's wife had her new Canon SLR there and took about 800 pictures, so there should be a few good shots of the lux coming soon!
I now have OME springs fitted and all the wheels are still firmly on the ground in these pics. My front bumpstops have been extented by 50mm, so it won't flex much more, i.e. less than other lux's with OME. The lockers front and back as well as the 35" MT's makes up for the lack of flexibility.
This was last week. Here I dug in the rear wheels to use it as a winch anchor for friend's very stuck colt.
The lux a bit muddy.
Kicking up sand at Brakkenduine.
Getting properly stuck to test the recovery points.....and it wasn't easy to get stuck!
More stuck.
A bit more stuck
More mud.
And one last poser shot.

Barto,
She looks GREAT! And I love the sound of the V8, heard in the youtube pic where you were recovering Chris.
Who was the unlucky guy who actually had to wash the vehicle clean from all the mud & grime? I'm sure a Car Wash would refuse you entry

Re: Barto's HiLEX
The type of mud we get here close to the Vaal River is the filthy black stuff, all clay. Not pleasant getting that stuff all over one's feet, let alone anything else!

Hi Barto
So when are you getting a Bulbar?
Please take a few detailed pics of the radiator as I am keen to see how much you cut to get it in, especially the slam tray and locking mechanism.
SO what is happening with the ECU at this stage?

Re: Barto's HiLEX
Some Vleesbaai action pics!
Getting ready to recover the colt. There's a pole right behind it so he couldn't reverse. While winching the colt's front prop shaft broke, then the winch shorted out! I had to snatch him with 4 straps joined together from there where I'm standing in the pic. Gave him 4 light snatches to turn his nose towards me, and it took about 8-10 snatches to get him up and over that hump to a point where I can tow him from....once again the pic doesn't show the true angle!

Re: Barto's HiLEX
The pics seem to be too big to post here, so here's the entire photo album of our play session at Jagtvlakte on Friday....they're mostly pics of my friend's black Colt as well, but he's wife was taking the pics and took more of him, than of the lux.

Moenie fout maak nie, hy is veel beter as standaard 2.2 en 2,4, maar ai, the go did not match the show... sounds excellent though.
Ek glo hulle is lekker torque-ie, maar my verwagtinge was seker te hoog, maar gewoond aan die Turbo dragster wat ek het.
