D/C Audio system upgrade

Hi to all a newbie here....
I enjoy my music a lot and not like in the taxi way but enjoy a good sound system with some decent bass,midrange, and hi has anyone upgraded there sound in their D/C any advice, pics, would like to keep standard head unit but not sure if it can accommodate RCA's maybe someone has been through the exercise and give me any form of a heads up!

You are going to have to specify which D/C you have, SFA, IFS or Vigo?
