With reference to the 1996-2002 Prado 90 serie. Some people and literature refer to the Prado 90 but also to the Prado 95 serie. Does the 95 serie refer to the "face lifted" 2000 model or where/what is the difference between a 90 or 95 serie?
Thx

Re: Prado 90 vs 95?
Kaaskop, the term 90 series refers to all the cruisers in that series, whether it is a 90 or a 95
So a guy with a 95 series prado who does not understand the nomenclature used will incorrectly refer to his prado as a 90 when in fact it is a 95.
But the 90 is the 3door SWB prado and the 95 is the 5door standard wheel base prado.
Hope this helps
BTW, welcome to the forum, how about some introductions? viewforum.php?f=137

Marius
Thx for the explanation. I need to upgrade my knowledge of the Prado as from today I will be the owner of a 2000 Prado VX 3.4. This after many years driving a 1996 Pajero 3.5 GLS which is also a lovely “go-anywhere” vehicle and is still used as my daily transport. I don’t hope I’m making a mistake. I have always been a Toyota fan and as we have quite a number of Cruisers between our family and friends. According to the forums and literature, it seems that the majority Prado 90 owners are very happy and the 3.4 L engine receives a lot of praise. Hence, my decision to buy a very clean 2000 model (297000km with FSH) was not too difficult.
Regards
Bram

The petrol is IMHO the better choice compared to having the diesel. The diesel has some problems, especially the older ones. Have fun!

Bram,
Sadly most of us cannot read. A pic of your Prado is obligatory!
