Clutch help

Post by jlee »

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the group but I need some help.

I have a 2009 model Hilux 2.5l 4x4 and the clutch has gone. Toyota is charging just shy of $1,000.00 USD just for the clutch alone. That excludes installation. This is just too pricey for me at this time. My mechanic recently had to change a clutch on another Hilux where the owner bought an after market clutch to save money but it stiffened up the pedal making it uncomfortable to drive and in the end had to get the OEM clutch from Toyota. I have heard that Toyota doesn't make the replacement parts themselves but rather that they put parts from specific manufacturers in Toyota boxes to sell as OEM parts in the dealerships at an increased price so what I wanted to know is who makes the OEM clutches for the Hilux?

Welcome to the forum.

Can you get a Sachs clutch in Spain?

If you can , use Sachs, it is better than the OEM one and will not stiffen the clutch.

LUK is also not bad.

If you fit one of those two makes, you should be fine.

Thanks a lot. Will definitely check them out.

Port-of-Spain is actually the Capital city of Trinidad which is in the Caribbean. I have no idea if anyone carries those brands but will definitely ask.
