Welcome aboard Armandt!

Don't under estimate the 4Y. Yes it's low on power but for a petrol motor it has excellent low rev torque (where it's needed off road). It's not very high revving so it loses a lot of it's grunt as the revs climb, but a more reliable power plant you'd be hard pressed to find. It's definitely not a highway racer, so enjoy the scenery when on the open road - you're also not gonna get too many speeding tickets either. Replacement parts are still readily available (throughout most of Africa) and relatively cheap. These motors are easy to work on, even out in the styx and are well proven to be practically bullet-proof.

If you do want to swop it out for something with a bit more oomf, consider a diesel if you do a lot of offroading. The Ford / Mazda 2.5 WL motor is a good option. :winkx:

Try Gilo engineering, otherwise perhaps an adapter plate. Maybe one of the guys that's done the conversion can give you some more / better info.
