Hi Guys,
Name is Ryno, from Durban and on the way to Sodwana bay.
I have just bought myself a 98 Prado 3.0 kzte. I use to drive a 110 Defender
I'm moving to Sodwana Bay in the next to weeks to take over a lodge there.
Hoping to meet some members as well as learn a thing or two

Welcome Ryno
I have the same vehicle and have spent the last 4 yrs working on it so I'm really quite getting to grips with it.
Well done for curing your Landy disease, can be pretty nasty but Toyota is the best antidote!
Welcome man!

Re: New Member- Ex Landy man :)
Thanks Guys,
Picked my lady up this afternoon. I'm so happy!!!
I drove her back from Pinetown to Umhlanga. I tested her on the M19 which is a long up hill. I went down to about 40kph, stuck her in 4th gear and let her pull for quite a while to see if the temp gage rises as the speed picked up. It raises to about just under half way. I want to get one of those electronic monitoring systems fitted as well to keep an eye on the Oil, water, Exhaust temps and what what.
She is spotless for her age. The interior is stunning and the body is very very clean!
The head was done along with rings, pistons, radiator and all new water pipes. The work was done in quite a well known work shop in Pinetown.
Help:.....
Where can I get one of these electronic monitoring systems fitted?
I'm gonna need to buy new set of tyres but can't break the bank right now? Any suggestions?
Any other suggestions and things to put on top of my list?
How do I post a pic?
Thanks guys

Welcome to the forum. Ask Travis at Rugged Africa if he does EGT guages, he is in Gillits.
See; http://www.ruggedafrica.co.za/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The video is outdated but you will get a good idea about photo upload here:
viewtopic.php?f=21&t=10068" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Main thing is that the pics can't be too large, then it wont upload.
In short click the attachments tab further down on the page where you type your message, select the files and upload. As easy as that. You can even select multiple files. Pics must be smaller than 800 pixels wide.

Re: New Member- Ex Landy man :)
Those Prados are wonderful vehicles, guess it must feel like you are driving a Rolls after the Landy.
Just make sure from whoever did the engine if they have to re-torque the head bolts after a while. After the first 1,000km after the rebuild you must change oil, oil filter and if the engine don't have stretch bolts you must re-torque the head bolts.

Welcome aboard, Ryno!
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
Life is like a jar of Jalapeño peppers ... what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.
Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.
It's not about waiting for storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
And be yourself ..... everyone else is taken!
