New Fortuner - opinions

Post by Louiseb »

Hi There,

So I have decided on a new Fortuner 4 x 4 diesel. Now I am hearing negative feedback on it. Does anyone own one or know anything about it. Apparently it is not nearly as good as the old 3l Diesel?

Thys did a test of the new Hilux - same motor as new Fortuner. And Thys owns the D-4D. His write of the new vehicle was GOOD.

Got a 2.8 tuna. Biggest upgrade toyota did to any vehicle since they brought out the d4d. Extremely impressed

Haven't heard anything negtive either.
If you lisen to critics you will never ever be able to buy any new car.

Somewhere , somebody has something negative to say about some new car.

Re: New Fortuner - spare tyre stolen

Post by Louiseb »

I Have just noticed that my spare wheel has been stolen off the new Fortuner - has this happened to anyone else? I am not in the habit of looking under my car all the time to see if my spare tyre is still there? Strange I know?

Always check when you return to your car, even at work (mine was stolen at work), never reverse into a parking, they use the cover of the other cars or fence or wall.

I am very sorry to hear about the spare wheel. The very first thing to do is to have a spare wheel lock installed. It is cheap compared to the cost of the tyre and rim.

Extra Fuel tank for Fortuner

Post by Louiseb »

Does anyone have any suggestions for an extra fuel tank for a Fortuner? I believe there is a 42 liter tank but that is not very big. But if you get a bigger one you have to change the spot for your spare wheel? Is this correct?
