Howsit

Post by lukestrugnell »

Hi Everyone
I thought I better introduce myself as well now that Im a member and have a lux, and keep asking so many questions :>

Luke Strugnell, Im 25 and am based in Alldays at the moment. I currently work for De Wildt on the wild cheetah project. The work involves all aspects of managing the wild cheetah population (wild- i.e. naturally occuring on farm land, not in reserves or national parks)

I basically assist farmers with problem cheetah and leopard and help provide solutions so the farmers do not have to resort to shooting the cats.

Previously I worked on a research base on Karongwe game reserve and did research on all of the carnivores.

My main passion is leopards and this is my reason for getting into conservation.

I enjoy all outdoor activities, e.g. fishing, hunting (especially with my bow), mountain biking and now 4x4'ing with my lux!

Great forum and great to be a member.
Cheers
Luke

Hi Luke

It is definately about time,
Sounds like an awesome job, it makes me jealous that people get to spend their days in the great outdoors while I sit here in a office.
I'm sure the lux, once all is sorted will love being by your side as you take on the task of saving the cheetah and leopard populations.

It is a great feeling to know you can make a difference in the wild.

Hope you enjoy the forum further and get your Lux running as it should.

Luke

Well what can we say we are all envious of your job. In your line of work I am sure you can make something on the side with maybe photography or even writing about your field of expertise. We would love to be your "test" audience, so post a few pics and a story or two about your work.
