At least one episode with a happy ending
We usually see floods of complaints, and unhappy vehicle owners writing long letters mostly with unhappy endings. And we know that bad news sells better than good news.
However I feel that maybe I should add a story with an opposite ending to what is perceived to be the norm, one where I was very satisfied with the result and also where the dealer did deliver on their promise of customer commitment.
Recently I purchased myself a used Toyota Hilux 2.5D4D DC 4x4 after a brief encounter with another brand. I made a conscious decision to get a used vehicle as there was not stock available of new 2.5’s. And this vehicle being intended primarily for 4x4 usage I do not want all the electrical stuff that can fail when you are gone for weeks on end.
After some searching I found a vehicle at Global Exclusive in Hatfield Pretoria and took delivery of it early in March. For extra peace of mind also took an extended warranty.
In the second week of June the vehicle failed to start and after some extensive own investigation I could work out the vehicle was not getting fuel past the fuel pump (if it was not going past the pump chances where less than slim for it to make it into the cylinders), so there was no reason looking further. I had the vehicle moved to East Rand Toyota, but with the start of the SWC looming having the exact problem determined only happened on 14 June. The results were almost worst case for a Hilux diesel, all four injectors and main diesel pump where completely out of specification.
I had the vehicle moved to a diesel injector specialist in Springs and contacted Global Exclusive and the company who sold me the warranty. At this point my hope was waning that I would be able to afford such a costly repair. To my great surprise the warranty company agreed to repair immediately (based upon the less than 1,000km I had travelled in the three months since purchasing the vehicle as well as the rock solid reputation of Advanced Diesel in Springs). Unfortunately the warranty did not cover the injectors but only the pump. The dealer principal from Global Exclusive committed to paying 50% of the replacement cost for the new injectors due to the very low kilometers covered in the 3 months since delivery of the vehicle to me.
I received the Hilux back, and it drives better than the day I took delivery of it.
I have to compliment Global Exclusive in Pretoria, Guardrisk on the Warranty and Advanced Fuel in Springs. All three companies turned a nasty experience into a much more bearable repair.

One need to have the ability to be just as complimentary as you can be critical.
And I owe a member on this forum a huge thanks for giving me the cash flow required to pay the other 50% of the money until I could sell the 35" Maxxis.

Yip, it was the waving finger. But I do not use it, too afraid I wave it at the wrong person.
That finger is getting better, but it still is sensitive. I had an abscess drained on it yesterday.
