Besides being @ work I wouldn't have gone to vote. Lost faith in the system and our lying powers. But also not voting does not help either. Either way we're (or at least I'm) stuck. :shock2:

Our voting station is a small rural school in the Seven Oaks district KZN; (see on Google earth at S29.203197; E30.575506).
Don't know why we ended up been registered there as Greytown would be much closer?

We decided we would be at the school when voting stations opened at 7:00 a.m. and avoid the rush. Arrived at 6.40 and there were 6th in the queue. 7 o'clock and the doors remained closed. 7.15 and a car arrives with a flustered official who hastily carries in the paraphernalia need with excuses that the weather caused the delay, (it was a cool and misty morning). Shortly afterwards he left as hurriedly as he arrived.
We wait and wait.......... then at last at 7.47 the voting process starts. By this time the queue has increased to 8. We finished our turn at 8.17 and left.
There was no sign of any more arrivals.

Two photos the school and the one of a informal home in the scholl grounds - maybe the teacher(s) live there?

Had to go do some "work" today. Got everything ready and drove past the voting venue on the way to some repair work. Guessed it to be an hour que, so just kept on going. Drove past there about 5 times today .... The quees are just getting longer and longer .... We will pop in there just before 19:00. Will be interesting to see if they close at 7 or finish the que.

PS - the quick repair job turned into a nightmare job, and kept me busy untill after 15:00. Had to keep going back to the hardware store to get more parts. I HATE fixing old stuff ! Just so much better to plan a job and build soemthing new.

Uiteindelik so 50 minute gevat om te stem. Wel eintlik net n minuut of twee vir die stem, maar die ry staanery het so 45 minute gevat. Maar was nogal n lekker groepie - lekker gesels en die tyd het gou verby gegaan.

11 minutes from walking in the gate to walking out the gate, all done.
It took me longer to walk from home to the voting station than the whole voting process.

Donkey, seems like you were not alone in staying away, check this out

Quoted from M&G
The results from on polling station in Randfontein were 57,1% in favour of the African National Congress, with the DA gaining 42,9% of the vote.

The reason for the quick outcome was probably down to the fact that a mere 14 voters cast their ballots at this West Rand voting station.

Hey Donkey my bru, I R slightly disappointed that you didn't vote  Forgive me if my assumption is wrong, but if you're so upset with the ruling party your vote for any other opposition party would be the best revenge

Pieter, it's hard to believe those stats, how do you break 14 to get those percentages, 57.1% and 42,9%... somebody must have got sliced up!
