My past experiences in trying to obtain temp radio permits whilst travelling to our neighbors has been very stressful & unsuccessful every time.

All I do now is remove the mobile unit & take handhelds which are stashed away during border crossings.

When we went to NAM in June of this year I dealt with a chap at CRAN (the Nam version of ICASA) whose surname was Paulus. He was very helpful, even though no-one ever asked for the lisence.

I found that if you send mail in the latter part of the day, you are more likely to get a reply the same day.

Theunis, I can confirm that  Recently got my radio license. Was a matter of a week from application sent in; to receiving the license. Their website is: http://www.cran.na/ and for the forms: http://www.cran.na/Forms.html . Licenses used to be difficult to get hold off and would take forever; at least that's what I heard, but with CRAN now responsible, it has become fairly easy. CRAN: Communications Regulatory Authority Namibia.

Contact them via the email address provided on the website, but you will most likely be referred to Lazarus Paulus.
