How about we get some feedback from the current teams on their experiences with marshalling??

I felt that this has open a whole new world to me!! its moer baie fun, and I have learned so much about the sport, about different vehicles (as much as a girl can learn), I have met sooooo many awesome and interesting people.

Watching people enjoy themselves, having the opportunity to drive routes that are sometimes not open to the public, getting a weekend away and spending it with awesome fun people chatting the night away around campfires....

come guys, come join us and see what it's all about...

Forgot to add one thing......

It looks hella impressive when the club pulls away out of scrutinearing to drive to the obstacles.
Many a time seen the competitors stop in their tracks to watch the convoy go by. :celebrate:

Reminds me of the Bridgestone Finals last year. The Gelanderwagons put on a bit of a show by parking their gwagons on boulders. Not to be outdone the Hilux 4x4 Club Marshals answered with their own display right next to the gwagons. And the funny thing is that we got TV coverage for it as Bridgestone and the media thought it was moer funny and interviewed us about it. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

What is there to say about being a Bridgestone Club Challenge Fundi Marshall - It is the most fun you can legally have with your clothes on, in a 4x4!

It is just such an awesome experience and have taught me so much on 4x4'ing. Having the opportunity to see different vehicles and different drivers do obstacles, the lines they take, the mistakes they make, the reactions you get when things go wrong, the reactions you get when things go right (especially when they did not expect their plan to work), to be able to drive and go through the obstacles they go through and to gauge yourself against their experience, the people you meet and their stories, the kuiers and braais, the drives out and the camaraderie with the marshals, the places you see...where does one stop!

I cannot think of one negative aspect to this - Everything have just been wonderful since I have joined as a Marshall. I know my vehicle better, I know myself better, I know my experience better, I met new people and I have been on TV!

I cannot think of a better bunch of people together! Sharing the same passion! Doing what they love doing!

If any of the above appeal to you, put your name on the list and come and try it out for yourself! You do not need prior experience in marshaling, or even need to be a good driver. We will teach you all you need to know to be able to perform you marshaling duties, have fun whilst doing it and still enjoy yourself whilst at it!

This is an opportunity not to be missed! Climb aboard guys and gals, the ride is taking off soon! Enjoy it with the Hilux Club Marshal Unit!

How are we doing on the branding? Have we got anymore ideas besides the oval Door/Bonnet/Bumper Bar stickers?

How about getting back at Daniel with windscreen stickers of our own...we can even work a small Bridgestone in there? :twisted:

Cassie - In your next tea hour, do a mockup of that and lets see what it will look like...

So I got some prices on the marhal stickers. Prices are not final but should not change too much. Just need to finalise the sizes and so on.

Oval decals +-300mm in length non-magnetic = R43.50
Oval decals +-300mm in length magnetic = R87.75
Vinyl cut-out letters in white or black +- 1350 x 110 mm = R49.50

Please note these prices exclude VAT.

Any other suggestions on sizes and I will get pricing.

What say you?

Die keuse om n sticker te kry is heeltemal jou keuse. Ek wag nog vir terugvoering van die ORMU (Off Road Marshal Unit) af maar laat ek solank vir die wat belang stel meer verduidelik.

Hoe dit werk om n Hilux4x4 Marshal te wees is jy moet n vol betaalde klub lid wees. Dit kos maar net R100 n jaar. Kyk hier - http://www.hiluxclub.co.za/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

For the English members,
The choice is yours whether you want the Hilux4x4 Marshal unit stickers or not.
We are still waiting for feedback regarding our proposal we put forward to the ORMU (Off Road Marshal Unit) but let me give some insight.

To become Hilux4x4 Marshal all you need is to be a paid up member of the Hilux4x4 Club which only costs R100 per year. Look here - http://www.hiluxclub.co.za/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Once you are a member you will be able to see the Marshal unit links where all the details of the different events are discussed and you will have the opportunity to put your name down.

Hopefully by 2014 we will be affiliated with the ORMU but then it will be R200 per year for your ORMU membership which will include your MSA membership, your training manual with yearly updates as well as medical cover for all MSA events you attend. The current Bridgestone Club challenge marshals are being medically covered by Bridgestone.

You will be compensated for all your travel and accommodation costs incurred to attend an event but please bare in mind that we will be approached to marshal at charity events such as RFAD Fun day (Reach for a Dream) and will thus not be compensated for any costs as it is for charity.

Any and all questions are welcome.
