Hilux4x4 Clubhouse

Post by Donkey »

Can't help but cannot get the idea of a clubclubhouse out of my head. Sometimes you don't want to go play in the bush but just want to be surrounded by friends over a campfire and some coffee or mother's milk. Camp over the night or weekend and just chill. Oh and a lekka braai!

Sounds relevant a thought?

A 'clubhouse' is a nice idea Tumelo, but it's impractical for our setup ... we're generally spread out all over. I don't mean nationally, but sprawling metro's like JHB or CT. That's to say, if we're speaking of a 'fixed' venue.

If you are in fact suggesting a fixed meeting place in your area, it could be a hassle for the guys further afield to make use of it (travelling distances). If it's not a member's workshop /garage / home, then you're looking at further impracticalities like rentals, who opens up and closes, who keeps it clean and tidy, if there's any form of club stock to be kept there then there's possibly a security issue. :eh:

If on the other hand we talk about gathering for a social breakfast or evening with braai, drinks etc, then we've already been doing that .... we've done it a couple of times here in the E/C (private homes, extreme golf course), the W/C have done it at places like Kriege's and Hoppy's workshop. Even the Gauteng guys have been doing it, breakfast meets and I attended an evening braai at Fransico's place when I was up there. Just suggest a social gathering and see who's keen. ;-)
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.
It's not about waiting for storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
And be yourself ..... everyone else is taken!

Am aware of the pros/cons and so was thinking more on the latter idea.
