Looking good, George!

The T/R has always been a drawback for RHS front articulation. One could make an adjustable T/R, but that only solves a small part of the problem. The only real benefit of the T/R is with on-road braking to prevent 'bump-steer and axle wrap and the resultant pull to the right if the axle is allowed to wrap - off-road this is of no consequence. If one throws the T/R off altogether, then you have to change the push-pull steering to cross-over which almost completely eliminates the above issues. The other alternative is to make the T/R easily removable for when you need the articulation.
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

Thanks Andy

I'm gonna try and make the TR slightly longer and try that for the next couple of trips.
In the long run i'll be looking towards a cross over steering.

When I shortened the TR for the axle move I moved the bakkie forward & back to let it settle (leaf springs flat on the saddles, spring perches Andy :mocking: ) and took measurements from there.

prize #1 for me would be to have adjustable TR & Draglink, not sure if Barry Ultimate 4x4 can still source them.

I don't have a real appetite for cross over steering

George,

Checked the angles when the bakkie was on the lift for the new tyres...they look very similar.

with the new tyres & wheel alignment the problem seems to have disappeared; seems that front setup on the SFA is fairly sensitive to anything that's out of sorts.

Tyd sal leer.
4.55 gaan beter wees vir die V6 as die 4.1.

siende dat my turbo regs sit en ek die kortste moontlike roete wil he vir die air intake het ek die 2.7 IFS se snorkel op.

Nou kry daai KZ genoeg lug :yahoo:

As julle 'n lekker 40 grade dag het glo ek hy sal settle.

OK
Just replaced the Flex pipe on the Exhaust, was 57mm, with a 63mm and also some 50% of the pipe, unfortunately Francois from 4xLux didn't have stock on the down pipe, but that will come soon.

Now my question is; Is a Freeflow / silencer box a must on my KZ with manual diesel pump?
Or can 'n run a straight 63mm pipe from the 3 inch downpipe with the exeption of the flex pipe, and throw out the silencer box completely?

Saw one running like this except for the down pipe and the owner swears by it. . . .

To Sell or not to sell that is the BIG Question.
Time to scale down on my vehicles

1. Renault kangoo needed for Work
2. Tazz Carri needed for work
3. Ford bantam needed for work
4. Prado 3.4 5vz SWAMBO's
5. 3.0 D4D Was my daily now i most ly use the bantam
6. SFA with 3.0 KZ Toy standing most of the time

And i'll need a 1 ton bakkie in the near future.

Now should i sell the D4Dand the SFA and get an Auto SFA that can double as an Daily and toy if i'm not using the bantam?
SWAMBO will not part of her 5VZ Prado.... other wise i would have sold all three and bought a 4.0 V6 Auto VIGO.

Choices :frustrated:

Well the time has come.

All in all this SFA served me well
For 4x4 and trails, unbelievable. I drove a 2.2 4Y, 2.4 22R, 2.4 TD, 2.8TD, Ford V6, even a 5Mge once, but this is a monster on any 4x4 course. 10/10

For town driving i would say 9/10
Nippy and strong

Open road and Towing; well i don't tow in 5th only 4th, 3000rpm +/- 90Km/h 6/10
on the open road 3000rpm in 5th doing +/-110Km/h
4.1 gear ratio will sort this out but then you might loos the 1st low crawler

Over all 7.5 km/L average on GPS. Mileage is under read by 15%
I know of an SFA running 4.1 that gets 9 km/l on 31" tyres.

For now it is time for a change, I want a V8 Auto, and decided; rather sell than convert.
So This Blou Bull is up for sale and i'm in the market for a Lexus V8 A/T SFA.

Hope this serves as a good reference for any one considering a KZ swop.
