glass fibre maintenance

Looking for some hellp :beg:

what is the best way to maintain glass fibre near the coast ? It is the panels for a sectional garage door, facing North and suffering under the African sun ...


My uncle had a "mix" that he made and put on the door .. but took the recipe to his grave .. litterally ... :o:



die bruin glasvesel verblyk in die son .... wat kan ons gebruik om dit weer lewe te gee ??

Change it to a white door, problem solved.


Just by chance, I have one lying around too. :siffler:

Chris kyk bietjie 'gel coat '. Dit is die laag wat hulle op sit as 'verf' in die mould. Ek dink jy kan dit seker weer verf met n gel coat ook. Die glasvesel self behoort niks oor te kom nie, seker net die 'verf' behandeling wat verbleik en brittle word. Bietjie elbo power om skoon te maak en verf weer, sou ek reken.

Lyk my jy kry ook spesiale verwe vir glasvesel.

Johan ek glo jy is op die merk ....


dit is dia "coat/verf" wat verbleik. en dan mos die onderste laag wat die meeste son kry wat die meeste verbleik, en bo is dit nog oorspronklik ....

Polish. Dood gewone Cobra vloer polish - die pienk een.

As jongman het my Pa by my Oupa se glasvesel fabriek ingeval. Vandag week my Pa nog daarmee. Op laerskool was ek ELKE middag in daai fabriek...

Begin dalk eers met rubbing of burnish compound(growwer eers, dan die fyner een, indien nodig) en dan 'n lekker polish.

Gel coat gaan nie nou werk nie - dit gaan strepe los as jy dit aanverf.

As jy wil kan en my Pa se nommer vir jou stuur as jy sy opinie wil hoor.
