Hello All
We are planning to move back to SA from New Zealand after being away for over 35 years. We plan to settle in Sedgefield and our next trip will be Botswana (Mabuasehube) through Namibia (Khaudum) and then into Angola.
Any suggestions and thoughts will be welcome.

Welcome back to SA. Once a Suid Afrikaner, always a Suid Afrikaner.

About Mabuasehube, I had no idea but in June this year we will go through Khaudom up to the border of Angola to Epu falls then down to van Zyl pass. About Khaudom, it is my first time.

Hello Hennie
We were there in 2015 and tried to get in from the north but the truck carrying the building materials for the new lodge had messed up the sand tracks so much that it was low-range 15kms/hr. We had to diff-lock front and back to get out of the track when we met the truck on the track. Cam in from the south from Tsumkwe and had a fantastic time. Just about all alone for all the time that we were there. We camped at Sikerete camp.
The reserve itself - well its pure magic.

Van Zyls is not as bad as people say it is. We overnighted at the campsite at the top and went down early in the morning. While you are there why not have a look at the dry river beds - Hoanib, Hoearusib and Khumib. They were very good. We always found a campsite outside of the river beds and then spent the days driving through.
