Electric lawnmower blues

Post by Bushwacker »

If the motor doesn't get to full speed, it gets to about ¾ speed, and intermittendly will go to full speed for a split second. Could it be the starting cap.
I hav'nt got a spare cap to test with, so if anyone know the answer it will be greatly appreciated

Guys please... have you read the forum rules? How low are you going to sink... :wth: discussing an electric lawn mower on a 4x4 forum... geesh the nerve... it would have passed had it been petrol or diesel... :| but electric... sies manne! Next we'll have old ladies discussed knitting patterns and false teeth... ag neeeeeeee!

Oh by the way... sounds like the brushes or cap, had the same issue on my dads mower turned out to be the cap...

Moral of the story... get a Briggs & Stratton... 6HP IC engine! Gooi petrol and mow!

Dan loop hy vol spoed sonder 'n probleem.

Rich, it's like this ..... we can't tinker with our Lux's or participate on the forum at will, without being accused of neglect, etc. So, we have to keep her busy, and if the mower is broken she has more time on her hands to harrass us .......

..... or maybe it's a 4x4 mower ??? :D

What your lawnmower requires is one case of beer, a bottle of brandy, 4 liters of coke and some meat, invite your friends around for a braai and then you can discuss what is wrong with it, have a look at the trigger there are these two small buttons, maybe they are giving you the problem.

If you do not know, just take it to a lawnmower business and ask them to give you a quote, if you think it is too high, take it back home, leave it on the pavemunt and hope it gets stolen while you are inside getting a cooldrink, when you come out it will be gone, then contact the people that you have to.

This is why I have three lawnmowers, one for the wife to use, one for me to use and one spare, then if the one breaks down while she is cutting the lawn in the garden, I am busy cutting the lawn on the pavemunt, if one breaks she does not have an excuse, even got tow Stihl edge trimmers FS 400's.

Well that is that

Heard about the new lawn mowers that run on water.

Called a lawn mooo-er

Piet

I have a buddy that had a lawnmower repair shop. He said that there is usually 3 things that causes Electric mowers to run slow. Either the armature is on its way out, the brushes finished or the bearings are busy seizing.
