Miskien wil ek so bietjie swartgallig wees op hierdie Dinsdagmiddag...

Hoekom is Toyota en Isuzu so knaend besig om hulle nuwe modelle/engins onder bestaande modelle se specs uit te bring?

Die advertensie verwys na 'die nuwe koning van vierwiel-aangedrewe voertuie' - laat Toyota voertuie soos die Amarok (4 silinder met 450Nm), Ranger (5 silinder met 470Nm), en Disco 4 (6 silinder 3 liter met 600 Nm) buite rekening? Ek wonder of hierdie ouens nie in hulle mou lag as hulle na die statistieke kyk nie? Om 'net' 430Nm in hierdie dae uit 'n V8 te draai dink ek is bloot te konserwatief, ongeag alle argumente wat wil beweer dis om 'n langer enginlewe te verseker!

Dalk mis ek iewers iets waaarmee julle my kan reghelp...

Wat ek nie kan verstaan nie is dit dieselfde krag as die 1HD-FTE.Wat ek dink meer betroubaar is en jy kan 500 ppm diesel ingooi.So ek dink nie dis veel van 'n upgrade nie

Hulle het sy "launch" al verskeie kere geskuif en amper afgestel, ek dink hulle het hom erg ge"detune" om betroubaarheid te verseker, hy gaan beslis deur die brandweer en ander instansies met n volle vrag agterop werk en nog iets agterna sleep ook.
Ek is seker, soos met omtrent alle Toyotas, sal die "chips" en ander "go faster" goed op die mark wees, selfs nog voor jy van hulle sien rondry.
Daai enjin het definitief die potensiaal om 200kw plus en 800nm te gooi as jy bietjie krap, maar het jy al so n Cruiser teen hoe spoed gery? Ek het al Chevy V8's ingebou, en ek verseker jou hy is nie veilig op hoe spoed nie, ek sal hom net so los en vir die volgende 25 jaar ry sonder probleme, teen daai tyd is daar nie eers meer amaroks en rangers op die scrapyard oor nie.

Ps; n paar jaar terug was n Ford V6 vinnig, hy moes in alles in en hy het n hele 102kw en 240nm gemaak.

Ek moet se vir R100 minder koop ek eerder die V6 Petrol cruiser. Die probleem wat ek het met die cruiser bakkies is met die spaarwiel in die bak is dit onprakties vir baie mense. En vir al daardie geld kry jy nie eers n onderhouds plan saam nie. Ek weetnie van die V8 nie maar die 4.2 diesel moet elke 5000km gediens word wat ook nie lekker sin maak nie. Jy kannie eers a behoorlike toer doen nie met 5000km nie. Ek hou van die 70 cruiser konsep maar Toyota het op n paar plekke lekker dom keuses gemaak. Wat ek verstaan kan die V8 net op 50ppm loop wat ook nie sin maak in a cruiser nie.

Dié Cruisers is blykbaar vir 'n hele tyd getoets met enige diesel, by enige pomp, en geen probleme is ondervind nie.

Toyota is slim, hulle maak n V8 met "min" krag en oor 2 jaar dan "upgrade" hulle die Cruiser maar los dieselfde enjin in maar gee hom net bietjie meer krag. So hulle kan daai enjin inhou vir die volgende 10 "upgrades" dan behoort hulle eers by daai V8 se volle potensiaal te wees.

daai boere het al n paar goed getoets en mens sien omtrent net CRUISERS ......



en soos Hoppy sê, daai waentjie is nie gebou vir spoed nie ... en as mens hom nou eers gekit het vir overlanding is hy nog minder reg vir spoed ..... so nee wat, hou maar daai duitse-dubbel-asma-pompie modelle ..... tensy jy nou n nagemaakte bakkie soek vir winkel toe ry.

Terug van my jagnaweek in Loxton met 'n V8 Cruiser.
Vir party mag die kw. en torque dalk te min wees, maar my ondervinding is dat hierdie Cruiser trek soos 'n trein. Nie blitsig in die eerste twee ratte nie, maar het oorgenoeg torque om lekker te versnel en jou spoed teen opdraendes te hou en selfs in 5e te versnel.
Dit hanteer die grondpaaie uitstekend.
Die kajuit is kleinerig, maar die voorsitplekke gemaklik.
Die uitlaatpyp is verander en wat 'n diep V8 klank teweeg bring. Die probleem is, mens ry agter die klank aan.
Hierdie Cruiser mag maar in my garage staan.

Het julle gekyk wat is die brandstof verbruik? Is die spaarwiel op die bak soos dit uitgekom het?

Ek weet nog nie wat die verbruik was nie, maar soos ek sê, die probleem kan wees omdat mens agter die mooi klank aan ry.
Die spaarwiel bracket is uitgehaal uit die bak en die linker knop van die modderskerm is kleiner gemaak om die 80l yskas te akkommodeer.
Daar kom nou 2 spaarwiel houers op die agterbuffer.
Die kappie is die beste wat ek nog gesien het. Geen stof na meer as 400 km grondpad.

Die twee spaarwiele agterop is n "Cruiser ding", maar dit werk nie so goed soos dit lyk nie, hy ry soos n spring-haas as hy vrag op het.
Wie het die kappie gebou?
