Three weeks of bliss without Haboob around

Post by FIRSTGEER »

Edge and swambo departed today for a three week overland trip to Namibia.Lucky buggers. At least I wont be forced to join him in his tooting binges and thus my liver can recover.Jokes aside, the buggers are spending 3 weeks in Namibia and hopefully he will post a great trip report with many fotos on his return, as swambo aint lazy with the camera.Wish them Godspeed and trouble free kilos.

Hi to all that were happy to see me go. Back and still trying to recover. Spent the day relaxing after doing a taxing 7 500 km's with some awesome scenery and very bad roads. Had to do some road building to get out the valley of Desolation. Other bad roads were below van Zyls and Kunene River. In some places we saw no living sole in a whole days travel. Divorce pass was a good but rocky track to drive on. It was steep but even and done in the late afternoon, when one is already tired and looking for a place to camp. We were going to do it back again, but SWAMBO found the road to Rhino Sancruary, so we took that as it looked OK and we had already driven up Divorce pass, so it seemed pointless doing it the other way again, when there was a shorter, but more corregated road back to the Rhino sanctuary. Good time was had and a new experience was had travelling alone. There are the dngers of being stuck in the middle of nowhere alone, if you do get car problems without help. Damaraland does have the best sceneries, with the second river bed otherside Sesfontein and below Purros with the rain and water, also a bit nerve wrackink.
I will see when I will be able to get pitches to Andy to assist with a trip report, but he still has not put in a section for me about the different canopy kitchens that I have had, so I do not know how far this trip repoert will get...
Just now I get the monniker of "Bullshit Bertie" just because I don't know how to use a post pictures on a tablet.
