Daihatsu Materia Brake pads

If we can have a forum for the Amarok, I see no reason why we cant have one for Daihatsu, which is part owned by Toyota anyway.

Daihatsu Materia Brake pads

Post by kfxnando »

as the tittle says, we are desperatly looking for brake pads for the wifes car, daihatsu Materia

we ran the usual spares gauntlet shopping this morning, and no one has!! not even close!! that I could cut and make a plan!!
we did Auto Zone, Midas, and a few other small one one, and nothing!!

so only dealers!! not happy about that!! as they will either give it to us with out lube, or cut us a new one!!

we have started on the net as we know there a few in the UK

does any one know where we can try or where we can get the break pads???

all help will be appreciated!!

thanx

SAME issue with their other cars !!

cant even get after market air filters - and theirs cost more than the genuine Merc part !

actually sold my mom's Daihatsu due to their insane prices. A friend has one and continually moan about the parts prices.

this is the ONLY reason he wont touch Daihatsu again, sad as the cars ar enot bad at all.

Eks seker hy gebruik die Avanza pads.... Maak net seker... Of raak ek confused met die Sirion... Try ook die GWM dealers. Hulle het ook mos die Materia rip-off karretjie.

Daihatsu charges 1400 excl vat and fitment formy Terios brake pads. Took them out, drove around to a few small spares places and compared them to a few and found some that matched. Cost me R250 and no problems. Nobody could help me until I took a sample. Try that. Even make a drawing exactly on paper to use as a template. Might help.

sadly this is our last option!! in SA!!

we did take the sample and went to all the big spares places

we compared physically to terios, Avanza and even some renoult
nothing, some close however not the same!!

we just found a place that will ship it to SA as me was typing
37euros for the pads and 60euros for shipping

Rand / Euro 23:35 10.0484 0.0658
around R970
from what I have heard the pads for the Materia also around R1400 from stealers, just never let it bother me as I though that I would find ferrodos of ATEs when the time came

tomorrow morning off to the dahaitsu grave yard, for a set of second hand ones as a temp till we get other solution!!

very sad!! this is how Imperial kill a Make
have a contact in Japan, will see if he can send me a set by ship.
desperate times calls for desperate measures!!

here is the link

http://seekpart24.com/trw/brake-pad-set ... 0&at=18399" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

maybe this will help other Daihatsu drivers

looks like its more expensive to keep the Materia on the road then what it is to keep the Jeep on the road

Where's the daihatsu graveyard? Been looking for a scrap terios or 2 for a few parts but can never find one. It is extremely sad that they are so expensive because it is a good make.

sadly need to report that the daihatsu graveyard was a marketing Bs story by the scrap yard that has one material and sion that I did not even see

we ended up paying 900 for the pads at the stealers car going again
someone we know is going to Germany next week, found a place selling them for 37 euros
so we will be making a plan to get another set now for next time

stealers said there is some factory or whatever being set up locally and parts should come down in future
me gave then a good old rev about their prices :banned:
