Takealot has a special on the 50lit fridge freezer at R4999, listing a 54% discount over the normal price of R10,999

https://www.takealot.com/dometic-cf-50- ... ID32842563

A 3 year warranty is offered and the specs are quite impressive, but how good are their compressors?

My "el-cheapo" Campmaster is about the same age and still going strong. For some time it has been running permanently - started as a test to see if the solar panel / battery could keep up with the power demand on a low setting. Battery is about ½ in the mornings but fully charged again before midday.

The additional fridge might be a good idea so that I don't have to move the old Campmaster from one vehicle to another and it can stay permanently in the LTD SFA. The 2nd fridge (new one) can sleep in the RAV and I'll just move it over to the V6 SFA whenever I need to.

Not a necessity, just a "nice to have", but at that price it's too hard to turn down. :D:
