You can take the R62 from Montagu and turn off over the Tradow's Pass towards Suurbraak. At the T junction turn left and follow the road to Heidelberg... Not all dirt roads, but very scenic. You'll end up on the N2.

You can get from Heidelberg to Riversdale on the backroads too, or keep on the N2.

At Riversdale turn off the N2 and go over the Garcia Pass. After the pass turn right and follow the road to Mossel Bay via herbertsdale. Dirt road, but very scenic.

Enjoy..

Hi Charl

Last when i was there I rode the Gysmans hoek pass. Really impressive and not well known. from the R62 you can take this to Riversdale.

Hi Charl
If you end up in Oudtshoorn take the old pass road over Outeniqua. I think you can also drive the Old ossewa route.
