FISHING AND CAMPING AROUND CAPE TOWN

Post by Rusti »

Hi guys,

So my cousin, who is 32 years old just told me that he's never been camping... NEVER... W T F...? :banned:

So it gives me the perfect excuse to leave my girlfriend at home for a weekend for a boys weekend.. :subscribed:

Can you guys please give me some advice regarding best camp sites with good river fishing around CA? I use to fish allot as a child but haven't in years.

I'm looking for a place relatively close so maybe 1.5 hours from Cape Town so we can get there quickly after a friday at the office. Would be nice for it to still be light out when we arrive.. It would be in the next month so rain doesn't matter.. We'll just sit in the tent with the rods sticking out if we have to.. I'm thinking maybe Tulbagh or something else in the mountains. Catch and release is also cool.. Maybe even a dam near by?

If you have been somewhere great around here PLEASE let me know.

Thanks!

Klipkrans just outside Worcester. Not to far from Cape town and nice fishing and camping place.
There a two kind of people. Those who pushes a door when it says pull and they who pull a door when it says push.

also near Misverstand dam, just past Elani resort.
Anders kan jy dam gaan vang by Goeie Hoop Farm in McGreggor(ok not really McGreggor but close). Ook nie regtig kamp nie maar huisies. Daar is 2 x 4x4 tracks down the road too.

River House on the Breede River... at Slanghoek. I've caught a few big mouth bass there... hooked a huge carp but that one got away.. nice campsites!

Dankie manne!! Daars nou n paar mooi plekke hier. It's really great to have this Forum. As a new person to 4x4ing and mechanics etc I would be lost without it and without all of you that make this forum what it is!!

Have you heard of or been to THEE WATER SPORTS CLUB in Caledon? It looks great and it's MASSIVE but I've never heard about it before.. http://theewater.co.za" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Looks expensive though.
