Kobus, if you're really battling to find one, would it not be an option to modify a dizzy from another 6 cyl motor? Maybe from a 2JZ or 3JZ if you want to keep it Toyota?

Morning Andy,

I've only been trying the 7MGE options (Supra and Cressida)
People are not willing to break up an complete engine, which is understandable.

I'm not 100% sure of the following:

- Are the Dizzy's between the engines the same, considering I'm running the OEM Fuel management system

- The ones I see on Ebay looks to be the correct Dizzy's but according to the Merican's :
Second, and more important, it is unlikely that this distributor would be correct.
Our listings are only for vehicles sold in the USA market - most distributors vary by location (and can even have the same part number on them).
They change the curve (advance, retard) or the timing internally so a USA distributor would not likely work properly.

Item: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1989-1992-Toyot ... hQ&vxp=mtr

Its only the internal Bakelite spindle that's cracked. François from 4xLux did a great job to repair it but will not last for ever.
I need a solution, as its a pain to drive in traffic.

If it's just the rotor that you need, those used to be separately available from dealers and in the case of some very popular motors, from general spare outlets as well. I recall some years ago that Hoppy and Bretton spoke of a place in the C. T. area that had shelves of used dizzies (the post was to do with EFI conversions / electronic dizzies) .... might be worthwhile contacting either of them to find out where it was.

With some machining, one can use almost any other 6 point dizzy, the ECU will adjust the timing and timing advance (better if you have an after market ECU that can be tweaked).

Sent you a PM, Kobus - it would seem that Bretton's contact number and e-mail address on his profile are both outdated. I sent you an alternate number. :winkx:
