At 11. 30 I got call from discovery insure saying that my tracker had activated.
Ran out of drumming practice to see my window lying where my Lux was parked.

Hi Rusti
my trackers were both deactivated very quickly.

Love the centre console idea.

Hi Nick.

I've had my run ins with car thieves too.. my first golf was stolen within 2 weeks of me buying it as a birthday present to myself. They tried to steel the 2nd one a few months later. 8 monthd after catching 1 guy in it while the other ran away they let him off.. The justice system is really weak! Then when I bought my lux they tried to steel that too.. The problem is that these guys are true professionals.. They do quick and neat work as they are mostly auto electricians themselves. The guy I cought in my golf had his auto electrical cards in his wallet.. By the time time the neighbours were done with him there was also blood on his wallet... Not me of course... The neighbours...  I'm far too much of a gentleman when someone tries to steel my car.

I was lucky that time.. my tracker smsd me to say that there is battery tamper so I took a run up to it and saw them climbing in. And to be honest i dont think that there are hundreds of thousands of car thieves in SA. Its like a specialised trade.. There are a few thousand and all linked to sindicates. They know where to look for trackers and even have signal sensors to pick up transmissions from them. When my golf was being fitted with a tracker the guy told me about a truck that had been hijacked. It had 10 trackers and within 20min all were disconnected.. If they don't have the gear or knowhow to disconnect a tracker they park your car in a random street on the other side of town and if it's still there in 3 days they collect it again. Bottom line is that the police need to form a specialised unit. But Nkandla is more important!
