iBurst Connection Difficulties

Post by ThysdJ »

I have experienced serious difficulties connecting to http://www.hilux4x4.co.za" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and http://www.pietpetoors.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; this morning with my iBurst Wireless connection but managed to connect to most other sites without problems, e.g. Facebook, Superbru, News24 etc etc. I am now at ****** using the ****** connection and I am able to get into Hilux4x4. Are there any guys out there with similar connectivity problems? I just spoke to Hoppy, and he also cannot connect though iBurst.

Is there a cable down again that we dont know of yet?

May well be a peering issue/Seacom issue, don't think Iburst has the best connectivity in the first place. I switched from VC to CellC's 2GB/month @ 7.2mbps, so far it's going well, I get disconnected every now and then, but I can live with that @ R125/m for 2GB!

I've been with IB now for 3 years and this is the first time I experienced problems. I read about the seacom problem...

Thinus, it's not a rica issue as all other sites are available...only the Hilux4x4 and Pieter's other websites. I must admit, I have not been on with my IB connection since yesterday morning, so I dont know if the problem is solved yet.

Nee dis 'n USB desktop modem. Maar die probleem is uitgesort, kon al van Vrydagmiddag af inlog sonder probleme. Was seker maar die Seacom ding wat die probleem veroorsaak het.

If you say it was only Pieter's sites that were affected, it may well have been an international routing issue at Iburst, maybe DNS fault. If the problem was at the server hosting service provider then all forum users would have been affected.
