HTML vs Java Script

Post by 4x4 Junkie »

Hi Guys,

I am no IT boffin. Since recently my browser (Firefox) changes my view from Java to HTML after logging on to the forum.

Is there a setting that I need to change or what is going here?

If you still have blank pages in your passport, it's probably time for a road trip.

That usually happens when your download speed is very low. It switches off javascript to speed up the page download.

+1 usually a result of low internet speed. How are other sites behaving?

Quickly checked Firefox settings: when you disable Java script, it does not change to html at any point. Only disables smileys and the like...

The issue has nothing to do with HTML or Java(script). The look and feel of the forum, and most other websites, is controlled by CSS(cascading style sheets). It is correct that a slow internet connection could be a problem is that the external css files don't download properly or these files corrupt. I would clear the browsers' cache and reload the page.

To clear the cache:
1. Click "Alt" to raise the top menu bar, and choose "Tools"...
2. From the "Tools" menu click "Clear Recent History... "...
3. You can just leave the "cache" checkbox selected and "Time range to clear" on "Everthing"...
4. Click "Ok"... the cache files will be cleared and you can reload the forum page.

If your internet connection is ok, this will fix the issue.

Thank you Mr B. Your suggestion worked. I knew that the internet connection had nothing to do with it - I have 4mbps line and all the other sites work without a hitch.

Now I can enjoy Hilux4x4.co.za again. Yeah!!
