H4 LED kit

We have tested the H4 LED lights in the new REVO, and this is the response from it's proud owner.

"Morning Neil

Recently You fitted a set of LED H4 Globes to the Headlights to my new Hilux Revo.

At first I was not really excited or convinced, about having them fitted, as my thoughts lay in “Do I really need them?” and “Will the electronics handle these new lights”

Well—I retract any doubt, that this is probably one of the best investments a 4x4 owner can accessorize a vehicle with, driving at night is a pleasure with clearer vision and Tons more visibility.

In fact, on bright, my Spot lights were not even needed.

And to compliment the LED H4 Globes, no oncoming vehicles showed any signs of discomfort.

Less power consumption, greater visibility, and the obvious safety by far exceeds the well-priced and very affordable LED Lights that 4X4 Direct East Rand Boksburg supplied.

Thank you very much, and wish you and 4x4 Direct strength."

Hi Louis, I have a set in my IFS, sad thing is, I don't use my LED spots that much anymore.
They are fantastic

Neil

Did you guys receive my payment?

Question Nr. 3 above is for me very important.

Uncle Andy

I have currently the OSRAM night breakers fitted and together with 80W LED Spots (also purchased from 4x4Direct). I drive a 20km dirt road and when it is dark and I have to go to dim I can hardly see anything - and that is dangerous, taking into consideration Kudus etc. etc. Neil is mos 'n eerlike ou en sal nie sê die goed werk as dit nie werk nie

Sounds awesome. Can someone post some pics of the difference in the beams of the old versus the LED?

I would love to install a set of these, but I have a major concern.

The high frequency light produced by LED's has less penetration than the lower frequency light produced by incandescent lamps. The LED spots that I have on the Rav are blinding when one looks directly into them, even from a distance and they give a nice bright light for the first 25 to 30 metres but after that they start loosing their punch.

By comparison, the Warn spots (55W H4) on the Lux are not as bright but light up the road 200m ahead.

I would love to be able to justify fitting these LED lamps ... just tell me how. :D:

Hi Andy, to put you into perspective, before we stocked these headlights, we gave a set to a Toyota rally team.
Due to their feedback from the night stages we proceeded to bring them in. They are not to replace your spots but the headlights. Way more effective than any HID kit.

No harness needs to be changed, they fit the IFS, Vigo and Revo as well as the SFA, Prado and Cruiser.
I have even fitted a pair in an Land Rover.

Thanks for the reply, guys. Yes I understand that they are headlight replacements and am also using Osram 'Night-breaker Plus' at the moment. My concern is that if I fit a set of these to the Rav, there will be no more incandescent lights, neither spots nor headlights, only LED's. Maybe I'll just try it and see. :winkx:

I fitted my LED headlights with the H4 harness still in place and it worked perfectly. Only kept the harness in because I was too lazy to remove it.

I also installed these in our VW Caddy panel van and the LEDs are much clearer than the old ones. Also like the fact tat it does not blind oncoming traffic.

Our model is also fanless. My first set in the Hilux had cooling fans which is a good idea but crappy in a 4x4. The fans start to make a noise after a month or two probably due to dust. That is why I looked for fanless models.
