Sleeping bag CADAC
I saw CADAC sleeping bags at "reduced" price at my local Chamberlains, R228. The one with the cowl, 200EPP. Any good?

Re: Sleeping bag CADAC
Generaly speaking I have never had any issues with Cadac products. I don't own one of their sleeping bags though.

Re: Sleeping bag CADAC
As cheapie sleeping bags go the Cadac is not too bad.
The only issue i have with them is the zip. It has a protective strip on the inside of the bag so the zip doesn't scratch your body and this strip gets caught in the zip if you try and zip it up any quicker than a snail can walk the length of the zip.
I dont think you can wrong if they are to be used for small camping trips. They keep you warm enough.
Out under the stars on a cold night you will have to wear extra clothes or at least I have had to (and Im a warm sleeper).

Re: Sleeping bag CADAC
They are acceptable, much better than sleeping in a "goingska", or a black refuse bag. When well looked after they will last you a good couple of years as well. Store them folded, and not rolled inside the bag.
Know what you don't know.

Re: Sleeping bag CADAC
Won't do much camping in winter so I guess they should be OK; saw at outdoor warehouse the brand name cowl ones are R270-ish for the +10deg so CADAC not much of a bargain.

Re: Sleeping bag CADAC
Have you considered K-Way? Have 2 and used them plenty in the past 5 years. Has been a brilliant investment.

Helps a lot tx!
Don't want to spend R4k on 3 sleeping bags just yet, looking for the cheapie to mid-range that could last me a while.

Re: Sleeping bag CADAC
Gonna have to put my 2 cents in as well....
One of my clients make sleeping bags - I have a 700g duck down bag that on the coldest nights I kick myself open , He gave me a new hollow fibre one to try - at abike rally in De Hoek - (if you don't know where it is - it is between mountains just before the Swartberg Pass) and my wife used it and she was sweating - for a hollow fibre not bad
He is in Salt River and his companys name is Duvet and Pillow Factory Shop - if you want the no. I can get it - all I can say is that they are more than their weight in gold - the prices range from R640 and up - absolutly worth every penny
