Tyre deflator test

Post by OOOOMS »

So curiosity killed the cat and as I do not own one of these fancy jobbs, I thought it would be interesting to see how effectively it really works.

So I pumped my wheel to 3.0 Bar, with my trusty T-Max (bit much but it was only a test....) as to see how long it would take to deflate to 0.8 Bar (tyre 245 / 75 / 16 Bridgestone Mudz)
IMG_0008 (1).JPG
IMG_0007 (1).JPG
I stopped the clock at 65 seconds
IMG_0010 (1).JPG
Then from 0.8 Bar to 3.0 Bar took an amazing 2 min 35 sec with the T-Max (once again I was impressed with this machine) :yahoo:

Then I did the manual test, using the valve only to deflate from 3.0 Bar to 0.8 Bar.
A staggering 3 min 6 sec, which x4 would result in 12 min 26 sec.
IMG_0013 (1).JPG
Just out of interest, from 2.5 Bar - 1.5 Bar took approx. 35 seconds
And from 1.5 Bar - 0.8 Bar approx. 20 seconds!

For R280.00 def worth the moola :wink2:

How exactly does this "magoeter" work? Is it just a pressure gauge? Or Can you deflate to exactly the pressure that you want without having to check the pressure every few seconds?

Hi Andre have a look here:

You can deflate very fast and check the pressure whenever you want to say every 20 seconds by just pushing the back lever forward. Simple operation

Rated as the 3rd most effective deflator available

Also Cassie the 2 deflators they place at the top are both permanently installed on the rims... Our deflators are not "vehicle/rim" specific....
