Compressor question
Hi Guys.
if i join 2 compressors with a Y piece will this double the air capacity?
Even if they are of diffrent sizes.
The one problem is that they will draw a large current.i would gues around +-20 amp?
I will have to run it from the battery while the motor is running.
Will there be anything else i need to look out for?
Cheers

Re: Compressor question
i don't see and problem with having a y piece but why do you need more pressure .as for running off the same battery i would have the too compressors fused separately.

Re: Compressor question
The reason is to speed up the time it takes to pump the wheel

Re: Compressor question
I have seen it done before George. Friend of mine with a Colt did it and he said it worked for him. :D

Re: Compressor question
Hi George,
When we took Bulldog to Berakah recently, we pumped the tyres up with two independent compressors. Bennie used the custom-fitted ARB one while I used a loose compressor connected to the battery with croc clips and we each pumped up two 31" tyres from 1.1 bar to 2.1 bar. It only took us a few minutes (about five minutes I think... can't remember, but less than 10 minutes) in total. I never had the engine running although that is a good idea.
But keep each Compressor separately fused.

And I inflated 4 31" tyres from 1.3 bar to 2.1 bar and was finished before youFamily_BullDog wrote:Hi George,

Re: Compressor question
I agree the duel piston TMAX rules, even with the 33's it pumps very well. I have seen some guys saying that you have to buy the expensive stuff if you have bigger wheels but I have pumped 2 vehicles tyres (31s) back to back and it did not overheat, or loose power at all. Compare tat to the ARB at more than double the price, and even Eric's smaller single piston TMAX still out pumped the ARB.

Re: Compressor question
I also repaired punctures on my Corolla and then re-inflated the tyres from totally flat to 2.5 bar in just over a minute :) (205/55 R16)
