Canopy air vents

Ran my 40l fridge in the back of my canopy this past weekend and found that the temp inside the canopy was like an oven. I would like to fit some air vents into this canopy but I don't want dust etc to enter.
Any suggestions as to what vents are on the market and the best ones to buy?

Just received the two vents, but before I cut my canopy and regret any holes, can anyone tell me how do these vents handle the rain etc. Are they able to keep the rain out or when I am washing the canopy, will they leak???

Do you want to fit them on the roof or side of the canopy?

I have a Bucco canopy fitted on the vehicle and it is all curves to match the vehicles, so trying to find a flat spot to fit them is a challenge, but I did find a spot on the side at the bottom right corner looking at it from the right side of the vehicle. It is just above the bin rim and between the glass and the cab. I don't think it will work on the roof and it cannot be waterproof in that position (laying flat).
Any thoughts?

Basil, you need to mount those vents as high as possible to get rid of the heat, otherwise it is going to be trapped above the vent. Bucco canopies are well rounded, and you will have a problem finding a suitable flat spot. Agreed, not on top of the roof..

Another option is to open the front slider window, to allow cool air in the front while driving. This has an added benefit of creating positive air pressure inside the canopy, which prevents dust from entering the load bin from the outside.

Basil, you could also make a small spacer that is flat on the outside and curved on the inside to suit the canopies curve, I dont think it would stick out too far. Just a thought.

Hi Thys, Thanks for the idea, but I have a solid window fitted in the front of the canopy, the canopy was already fitted and came with the vehicle so I didn't have an option to what I got.
Froll, fitting the vents in the position as I described in my thread above, will leave me a gap of about 4-5mm which is not big and maybe an advantage when it rains because the water will not be able to go over the rim of the vent, just got to seal it off with black silicon or similar adhesive.
