Fridge Powerpoint

Post by warrenaken »

Hi,
I have a friend who would like to run a power point to the rear of his KZTE to run a fridge off. Is this
A) something that is easily and safely achievable DIY
B) where can i get this done at a good price
I have got him one quote at R550, which seemed a bit steep for a bit of wire and a socket but i dont want to mis-guide him if it is likely to lead to an electrical fire!

Thanks

What is the amount of current that the fridge is drawing?

That price is not outragious, provided that a BH connecter and a in line fuse is part of the package.

HI,
We are both hiring engle 40L from Safari center, so not sure what current they draw.
Would include an inline fuse
Thanks

If you want to use it just for this one trip then I would suggest using a 30Amp relay and a 4mm2 cable with a 15Amp inline fuse that is connected with the ignition. Meaning that the relay will only give power to the fridge if the ignition is switched on.
