2.7 VVTi DC Exstra`s
Hi there
Yes , I am new. I am a proud owner of a 2008 2.7 DC VVTI. I love it !!!. It is paid off and now the fun can start.
I would like to know what can I add on to the car for proper overlanding. The exstra`s need to enhance the car , not only features. That is the rule that was set out by the minister of home affairs.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Hi Jozua, welcome to the forum.
I'd say first extra, install an auxiliary fuel tank.

Hi Guys
Thank you, I have been rading this forum for the last 6 months. And it is great to see the advise and tips.
Fuell tank for sure !!! , the 2.7 is heavy on the juice , but then again depends on your drive style. One thing that I also would like to know what the capability is of this lorrie. My DAD has a Land cruiser , and yes I know he goes , wel were ever he wants too.

Hi Jozua, firstly welcome,
uour vehicle is very capable, bring on the cruiser The only diff is the weight and gravity can be a disadvantage in many situations! But let's not go there they are both Toy's and built for different purposes.
You have a canopy? Fibre / Alu?

Good start
Where are you planning on going to? That also determines what you have to take / get kitted
Are you camping, lodging or have to be self sufficient?

Re: 2.7 VVTi DC Exstra`s
Camping and Self Sufficient. I am not a fan of a rooftop tent on my bakkie , when I camp I like to go and see the area. That is my only problem with a trooftop tent.
I would like to do long trips up to the caprivi , namib and moz. I know that the 4x2 does not have the sand driving capability , but I know that it can reach places that "Platkarre" can not.

Don't underestimate the capability of the 2x4 :!:
When I first started out I also had a 2x4, in Moz, driving on the beach and everywhere, with the right tire pressure and momentum you can almost get anywhere

Re: 2.7 VVTi DC Exstra`s
But you'd have to fit it to the rear diff on a 2x4 (if you don't already have one) and then it also depends on what diff is in there .... a gearmax locker will be a lot cheaper for a local diff.
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
