Ek is seker hier gaan seker 4x4 manne wees wat gaan moan hieroor, maar ek het vir 2 weke lank strand permit gekry by Sodwana met my Hilux 4x2 en nie `n enkele keer vasgesit nie.
Gewig op die gat, pap bande en throttle control was die geheim. Ek het aangekyk hoe Wranglers en defenders sukkel om die strand te verlaat maar nie my ongelooflike bakkie nie.
Ons was ook Lake Sibaya toe asook 9 Mile sonder ENIGE probleme.
Kyk ek weet hulle verkies slegs 4x4 voertuie, maar ek ken van sand ry en nie almal met 4x2 voertuie ken van sand nie - selfs nie eens almal wat 4x4's het nie. So ek het wel die reels oortree, maar om 4 volwassenes en 5 kinders se klomp strand goed te dra oor `n kilometer se warm sand is erg. Om dit met die voertuig te neem tot waar ons gekamp het vir die dag op die strand maak net die vakansie soveel meer pret.

Dis 'n bestuurdersblaps daai. Ek het al so 'n Jeep (3.6 Pentastar Sahara Unlimited) in Atlantis gery met harde bande... Hulle hou glad nie van vassit nie, hulle ry orals uit..

Ja, ek het ook al op Sodwana met my 4x2 gery MAAR hier rondom krismis met al die verkeer(in die ou dae - voor die permitte) so na midagete het ek my g@t lekker gesien - 0.6bar en al die truuks in die boek kon nie die trokkie bo-op die sand hou nie.
Daai draai net voor jy uitgaan was te uitgetrap en die warm sand so droog....'n Colt clubcab kon my bykans nie roer nie, 'n Nissan Patrol 4.5 kon my so 30m agter toe kry, toe begin die man sink. Op die einde kon 'n Hilux heel maklik sleep tot by die bote se uitgang...
Ten spyte van die blase wat die sand my voete gebrand het, is ek nog steeds gek oor sand ry!
