Recently my 2001 KZTE 4x4 has been givimg numerous problems. The steering damper, leaf-spring bushes, upper & lower ball joints, diff, back wheel bearings & diff bearings have had to be replaced within the last 5000km. Mileage now is 128 000km. I have a SAC's intercooler & chip & yesterday had a dyno test only to find that the rated power at the flywheel is 68kw- less than the standard specs! Needless to say new injectors & a diesel pump calibration is also necessary.
Have any other member experienced similar problems. Are Toyotas getting soft?? I have always had one Toyota in my arsenal of vehicles but now I am really wondering!

Re: KZTE Woes
Is the mileage genuine? Troubles of this nature might be expected with vehicles having in excess of three times your stated Kms. Injectors are usually good for at least 150k - 200,000 Kms, if not more. The other items sound like wear & tear, but at only 120,000Kms? Doesn't sound right.

Re: KZTE Woes
Mileage is genuine. Bought the vehivle from a friend at 45000km with full service history. By the way head cracked & was replaced at 83000km. Maybe a Monday car. I believe my vehicle is an early build with Prado engine.
