My next possible project!!!

Post by Ali3n »

So here is where my mind has been taking me... I am looking for another Surf. This one I will be stripped completely and re built from the ground up with lots of tlc. But I will not be going with the 1UZ... It was way too easy. Everything just worked. This time I will be going with the 3UZ. Slightly more challenging because of the transfer case. What you guys think?

What do I think? ..... You're a sucker for punishment! ...... and when will it be ready? in time for your grandchildren? :laugh2:

Seriously though, if you want to do it and the finances allow it, then why not ...... Riana can have her own one. ;-)
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

I am busy with my SFA rebuild with 1UZ.
I would take on your project in a heart beat, I love doing rebuilds and taking on a challenge.
That conversion will be amazing if you take your time and do it perfectly.

GO FOR IT!!

My next project will be the 100 series cruiser with 3uz.

Thanks.

Unfortunately I have to place it on hold after yesterdays off-roed test with my current Surf. I experienced no major issues with the test. Only 2 real issues. 1 was my fuel lines run against the body directly above the exhaust so on a trail where my engine works hardest and the heat oof the day it becomes so hot that by the time the fuel reaches the engine it is so hot that it actualy starts boiling and creates airbubles. This causes theengine to sort of miss. Had to blead the line a few times. Secondly my suspension is too flippn har so my van just wants to go airborn. Not good at all. Another minor issue was that my Idler arm (brand new) fell apart but luckly it was on a flat surface as I had no steering. Now I know what I need to look at for the next trip out.

Wrong fuel, petrol is so last century, fit a tweaked D4D with a large front mounted cooler.

Are you talking about the fuel lines in the engine compartment? Why not ceramic coat the manifold?
I am importing heat and sound insulation material from the US. When I tested it I will let you know, maybe you can use some to fix your problem?

Cheapest option.... Reroute your fuel line and that will solve the problem....
Use flex pipe and run it inside the chassis.......
