Engine oil recommendation for KZTE.

Postby Dzombo4 » Mon Jul 08, 2013 2:25 pm

After my last visit to the stealers at 120K Km, have decided to start doing own oil changes, as I would like to shorten the interval, since we only do around 5-7k km per annum and I would like to at least change the oil once a year.
Trips is typically shopping around town for the best part of the year and then one long trip for holidays.
What should I use. Suspect that the stealers use the same oil for everything from a Corolla to a LC.
I would like to go synthetic?
Come on high milers, whats your recommendations?

Shell Helix HX7 is one .
Stick to the known brands, not much between them.
My 2c limited knowledge about oil.

I like Caltex Delo Gold or Delo 400. I actually prefer the Delo 400 but both exceed the required minimum specification for the engine as specified by Toyota. All the well known brand oils are good but you must make sure that it is suitable for diesel engines. Don't try and save a few bucks on buying cheap oil.

Personally, either Shell Rimula or Engen Dieselube 700.

See that you use an oil with a specification of CH-4 or higher like CI.

One proposal is to purchase this oil from me. Volvo Ultra Diesel Engine Oil (Available in 5L).

Look at the VDS-3 oil as it is suited for the diesel available in our country.
It is according to all indications the highest quality diesel engine oil (non synthetic) that you can purchase in South Africa. The ash and carbon content exceeds anything else available on the market at the moment.

Less than R200.00 for 5L at any Babcock Equipment Branch. Part number: ZAVOE11709711
