1uzfe help!

Post by pampoen »

So on my way home on Thursday night, the engine goes from running beautifully to hunting so badly that i have to keep my foot on the throttle just to keep it idling. So now, once warm the vehicles rpm will drop from 900 to 500 and then go up to 900 and then down to 200 till it dies. What could it be? Any ideas?

Hi Pampoen
I just had exactly the same symptoms with my 60 series LC (lexus fitted)
Turns out the 2nd battery which powers the fuel pump was not charging and went gradually flat, causing the fuel pump to malfunction. (Don't ask why the battery went flat......it's a bit embarassing)
Anyhow thanks to Toit and his old man in Naboomspruit I was quickly back on the road.

I would it say could easily be a fuel pump problem.

Hope you get the problem sorted soon.

Cave.
