Immobilizer?

My 2005 V6 Hilux has the following problem:
The remote on the key is not working (lock, unlock) and the bakkie doesn't start. It however starts very easy with a running start.
When switched off and key removed from ignition, the interior fan keeps running.
Any idea what this could be?
How do you reset the immobilizer?

Not sure what the setup is on the Vigo's, but I'd start looking at the remote RX (if seperate from the ECU). If the Vigo has a transponder key type immobilizer and and push starts like you say then I doubt if it would be the immobilizer.
Also seems that the system does not sense the key being removed so it does not kill power to the accessories like fan, radio etc.

Does the C/L work when using the key in the driver door?
Have you tried disconnecting the battery to reset everything?
