Hilux fuel pump
Should the fuel pump on a V6 4L hilux have constant power?

Re: Hilux fuel pump
I would say it will have power for a few seconds when ignition is on to prime and constant power when the engine is running.

Re: Hilux fuel pump
I have no power at all thus it won't start. I have checked the pump and it runs with power. Do you have any suggestions of what to check next. All fuses are okay. Not sure where to go from here

You need to check the fuel pump relay.
It's in the fuse box in the engine bay marked F/PMP.
(The one furthest on opposite side from oil filter)
Make sure it kicks in.
If not, the relay is bust, or you need to trace further.
Don't forget the Pump Ballist resistor on startup also.
It's next to the Charcoal Cannister.

Re: Hilux fuel pump
There is no power at the relay. What controls that power? Shouldn't it have a constant power?

Re: Hilux fuel pump
After giving it a constant power it starts and runs. Then with out assistant it starts and runs fine, the relay is being fed fine? It seems very weard

Re: Hilux fuel pump
You will need this diag.
(Available in the manuals on this forum)
It should be an easy fix. The cct is straight forward and simple.
PS - Make sure you did not miss that EFI fuse.

Re: Hilux fuel pump
OH...
The bottom left 4x inputs are fed straight from the ECU/M.
If the above cct proves to be correct, I'll start searching for fault codes with OBDII.
You might have another fault or condition elsewhere preventing the ECU/M to enable the fuel pump.
