Figured as much, the auto gearboxes have a torque converter instead of clutch hey, could that be the issues?

I have considerable loss I power, it keeps slipping or trying to change gears especially when going up hill's revs up to high rpm without changing...

Managed to get onto the tar roads now where the problem is far more manageable gna try to limp accross the border maybe get a toyota service station on Monday

Sounds like the torque converter.
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

Time for fresh gearbox oil and a new filter.

If you make it back home with the gearbox intact, consider having the oil changed by a machine that flushes oit the whole system. The add 2 tubes of Dr Tranny.

It should solve the slipping clutches issue (IF it was not damaged completely)
