Hi there
Does anyone know how the 2.8D's charging circuit is supposed to work?
My 2.8D is a transplanted engine. The alternator is connected to a voltage regulator that only seems to be grounded to the body. Everything was fine, but now the alternator light is on constantly, even though the battery is charging when the engine is running.
I have zero idea how it should work, but I'm happy to listen to any ideas.
Thanks in advance

Re: 2.8D Charging circuit
Did you measure the voltage on the battery when the engine is running? Was it working initially after the transplant but now the light started coming on?

Re: 2.8D Charging circuit
The voltage on the battery is about 14.5V when the engine is running and 12.5V with it off, so the alternator is working. The transplant happened before I bought it, the electrics do look like they were done by a 5yr old though, but everything was working fine until recently when the alternator light has been on constantly
