Timing Belt Service Light

Post by GreggC »

Greetings Fellow Hiluxers

I have a 2010 3.0 D4D Single Cab and have just replaced the Timing Belt at 150 000km.
I followed the recommended procedure on this Forum to cancel the Service Light but it stays on.

Any suggestions?

It can be a bit tricky to get right. Please describe the procedure you followed.

The ignition must be off, Then hold the trip button in and turn on the ignition. Hold the button for about 10 seconds and then release it. It should then flash the value "15". If it does not show 15 keep pressing the trip button until the value is 15. Once you have set the value to 15 you need to release the button and then push it until the meter again says "ODO". It is a simple counter function in the instrument cluster that counts down from 15 to 0. every value of 1 = 10 000 kilometers.

It should go off then.

Thank you Pieta. I followed the procedure below exactly and even held for longer than 10 on Step 4, still no "15" appears.

1. Switch ignition on and select "odo"
2. Switch ign. off
3. Press selector and hold for 5 seconds, don't let go
4. Switch ign. on and hold for another 10 seconds
5. Release selector and press once, number 15 will apear
6. Press selector 15 times up to number 15
7. Press and hold selector untill odo re-apears, let go
8. Start vehicle, T-belt light is off :)

Eish!

That is exactly the same method I followed. Do you know a workshop that has computer for Toyota? They should be able to reset it
